Job description
The AVP, Business Development Manager ā Injaz plays a pivotal role within the Retail Banking Group of a prominent financial institution in the UAE. The role focuses on acquiring new customers and companies, cross-selling personal banking products, and maintaining robust relationships with existing clients. Operating in a high-performance and compliance-driven environment, the incumbent is expected to proactively promote the bankās products, particularly personal loans, while navigating regulatory requirements and customer satisfaction metrics. This role is a hybrid of sales and relationship management, demanding a strategic mindset to drive retail business growth through partnerships and direct engagements. It also involves close collaboration with internal units such as SME Banking, Corporate Banking, and Compliance to onboard new payroll clients, manage documentation standards, and ensure end-to-end processing timelines are met. The AVP is expected to generate revenue from untapped market segments by onboarding new companies, activating employee payroll accounts, and establishing deep client loyalty. Additionally, the AVP will contribute to broader digitization efforts, supporting the implementation and promotion of automated banking solutions and ensuring that customers benefit from seamless onboarding and servicing experiences. The role further emphasizes field activities such as kiosk activations, on-site client meetings, and micro-marketing campaigns to acquire new business. The AVP is responsible not only for personal targets but also for feeding the sales pipeline for the wider team through strategic sourcing of corporate leads. The position requires high levels of integrity, sales discipline, attention to regulatory compliance, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting aggressive sales and service targets.

Key responsibilities
- Achieve monthly sales targets in the financial year.
- Assist in developing and implementing team goals aligned with strategic direction.
- Present and sell all personal banking products and services ethically and professionally.
- Manage relationships with a portfolio of approved companies with specific onboarding targets.
- Enhance cross-sell opportunities through client relationship management.
- Coordinate with Corporate and SME Banking units for retail cross-sell initiatives.
- Manage company empanelment including compliance and payroll banking processes.
- Conduct targeted micro marketing including kiosk activities with specific targets.
- Support digitization/automation goals with sub-target ownership.
- Prospect in targeted segments through calls and face-to-face visits.
- Handle customer objections to close sales or facilitate payroll transfer.
- Ensure end-to-end TAT is met with quality adherence.
- Comply with Bank policies including KYC, FATCA, AML CTF and third-party channel guidelines.
- Record all sales activities in Daily Sales Reports and update CRM systems.
- Participate in all team activities including training, coaching, and compliance sessions.
- Adhere to high ethical standards and report any suspected breaches to Senior Management.
Experience & skills
- Graduate in any discipline
- 4+ years of retail banking sales experience
- Complete product and policy knowledge for smooth documentation and submission
- Strong sales aptitude with verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in payroll banking, company onboarding, and compliance management
- Understanding of Retail Banking product and service policies
- Confidence and persistence in sales interactions
- Ability to meet TAT and compliance standards in documentation
- Experience using CRM platforms and recording sales activity
