Job description
The Manager of Business Continuity & Response is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organizationās business continuity and disaster recovery strategies. This role ensures the company can continue critical operations during and after disruptions, including natural disasters, cyber-attacks, or other crises. The position involves designing and updating continuity plans, leading incident response, conducting drills and training, managing communications during crises, and driving continuous improvement to strengthen organizational resilience.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead a robust Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), including risk assessments, business impact analysis, and continuity strategies
- Create, update, and manage detailed business continuity and disaster recovery plans for all departments
- Lead the companyās response during crises, coordinating teams to execute continuity plans and minimize downtime
- Organize and conduct regular training sessions, drills, and tabletop exercises to test plan effectiveness
- Act as the central point of contact during crises, managing communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Review and analyze the effectiveness of continuity and response plans, applying lessons learned to improve resilience
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Business Administration, IT Management, or a related field
- 7ā9 years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or risk management
- Professional certification such as CBCP, MBCI, or ISO 22301 Lead Implementer (highly preferred)
- Strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for clear communication at all organizational levels
