Job description
The Senior Manager - Procurement & Logistics at World Crane Services (WCS), a DP World entity based in Dubai, is responsible for driving strategic growth in spare parts and services within the global port mechanical handling industry. Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Logistics, the role focuses on supplier development, procurement optimization, logistics management, and market expansion in the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa. Key responsibilities include developing commercial agreements, overseeing procurement and logistics for all business units, managing vendor relationships and credit lines, and promoting WCS offerings to both internal and external clients, including DPW Engineering and Terminals. The role also supports ERP optimization (Fusion), leads compliance with HSE policies, and ensures high customer service standards. It requires substantial international business experience, a strong engineering background in the port sector, and a proven track record in spare parts procurement and logistics. The position demands leadership, decision-making capabilities, and excellent English communication skills.

Key responsibilities
- Report weekly to Director of Procurement and Logistics on sales and procurement activities
- Develop strategic agreements and relationships with key component suppliers
- Lead marketing initiatives to strengthen WCS's market position in spare parts and services
- Collaborate with WCS management and COO to expand market share in the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa
- Support team in sales growth of products where WCS is agent/distributor
- Improve service to external customers and DPW operations while identifying business opportunities
- Ensure timely communication with customers and promotion of WCS services
- Research new products and vendors to maintain service leadership
- Enforce HSE compliance and report discrepancies
- Supervise procurement department across all business units
- Lead vendor pricing negotiations and credit line discussions
- Optimize ERP system (Fusion) for reporting and efficiency
- Support product and supplier identification
- Supervise logistics operations including forwarder and 3PL coordination
- Monitor customer satisfaction with supply and delivery services
- Lead and manage a collaborative, high-performing procurement and logistics team
- Act as brand ambassador for WCS and uphold DP World values and Code of Conduct
Experience & skills
- HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the mechanical handling industry
- Minimum 10 years of experience in global spare parts procurement and sales within the port industry
- At least 7 years of supply chain logistics expertise
- International business experience is essential
- Strong documentation and report writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with business systems implementation, especially ERP (Fusion preferred)
- Proven contract and commercial administration experience
- Excellent English communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
- Confident decision-making skills
- Good knowledge of IT systems and networks
