Job description
The HR Manager at GEMS Wellington Academy â Silicon Oasis is responsible for leading all HR functions within the school setting, covering the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to offboarding and employee relations. Reporting to the Principal/CEO and functionally to the School Support Centre HR Business Partner, this role manages day-to-day HR operations and ensures alignment with GEMS Education policies and UAE Labour Law. The role includes recruitment for teaching and non-teaching roles, employment contract generation via D365, managing personnel files, administering employee benefits, and supporting compliance and audit processes. The HR Manager also serves as a liaison with the Ministry of Labour through the schoolâs Government Relations Officer, manages exit processes, conducts exit interviews, and provides policy guidance to staff and school leaders. This role is vital in maintaining operational HR excellence, legal compliance, and a positive staff culture within a multicultural school environment, with a start date of August 1, 2025.

Key responsibilities
- Support the Principal/CEO in recruitment for all school-based positions.
- Coordinate with School Support Centre for teacher recruitment; manage admin tasks.
- Lead recruitment cycle for non-teaching positions, including advertising, screening, and interviews.
- Generate employment contracts using D365 in compliance with UAE Labour Law.
- Coordinate Ministry of Labour offer letters and contract processes with Government Relations.
- Book travel for new hires, send welcome packs, and conduct onboarding and induction.
- Manage personnel files (soft and electronic) ensuring they are accurate and compliant.
- Administer benefits and act as liaison between employees and insurance carriers.
- Issue required documents such as NOCs and salary letters in English and Arabic.
- Update and maintain HRIS database and employee records.
- Support ERP and HR systems integration and upgrades with data and policy inputs.
- Track approval workflows in D365 and run reports as needed for management and audits.
- Prepare correspondence and memos and compile HR statistical summaries.
- Advise management and staff on UAE Labour Law compliance and employee matters.
- Serve as primary contact for employee relations and policy inquiries.
- Manage offboarding processes including clearance, exit documentation, and exit interviews.
- Report exit data regularly to Principal; highlight key trends.
- Promote employee engagement and act as an HR role model within the school community.
- Collaborate with other school HR officers and contribute to HR best practice sharing.
- Participate in school committees and staff meetings as required.
Experience & skills
- Relevant degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum 2â3 years of HR generalist experience in a school environment.
- Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law and HR policy compliance.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience managing the full employee lifecycle including recruitment and offboarding.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably D365.
- Experience working in multicultural environments is a plus.
- Ability to manage sensitive employee relations issues effectively.
- Customer service orientation and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results efficiently.
