Job description
The Experienced Senior Consultant – Deal Advisory at BDO UAE leads assignments across the Deal Advisory domain, including information memorandums, financial models, teaser documents, business valuations, financial due diligence, financial feasibility studies, and business plans. The role takes a lead in completing fieldwork by coordinating dates and schedules with clients and Managers/Senior Managers, gathering required information, understanding client business needs and assignment requirements, and delivering within agreed timelines. Responsibilities include preparing and completing project engagement formalities (conflict of interest documents, client acceptance/engagement letters), maintaining knowledge of market practices, processes and procedures, and ensuring thorough project documentation and electronic filing per BDO guidelines. The consultant understands client requirements in detail, organizes ideas logically, presents thoughts rationally and confidently, reviews deliverables to ensure quality before Manager/Partner review, handles multiple engagements, finds solutions to technical or project management issues, and encourages collaboration. The role follows the evolution of client needs, commercial focus and business objectives, anticipates issues and questions, proposes relevant services and solutions, seeks opportunities, exceeds client expectations, provides viewpoint, and demonstrates commitment and technical knowledge. Additional responsibilities include ownership of self-assessment and appraisals, receptiveness to constructive feedback, providing continuous feedback to engagement team members (trainees and associates), upholding BDO core values of Ownership, Collaboration, Respect & Ethics, demonstrating exceptional client services (ECS), promoting brand visibility and market exposure, ensuring continuous professional development, identifying key technical improvement areas, contributing effectively in training sessions, engaging audiences, providing valuable inputs in technical discussions, and supporting junior team members on technical issues.

Key responsibilities
- Lead completion of Deal Advisory assignments (information memorandums, financial models, teaser documents, business valuations, financial due diligence, financial feasibility studies, business plans)
- Coordinate and complete fieldwork by aligning schedules with clients and Managers/Senior Managers, gathering required information, and meeting agreed timelines
- Prepare and complete project engagement formalities including conflict of interest documents and client acceptance/engagement letters
- Maintain thorough project documentation and electronic filing in line with BDO guidelines
- Understand client requirements, organize ideas logically, and present thoughts rationally and confidently
- Review deliverables to ensure quality prior to Manager/Partner review
- Handle multiple engagements concurrently and resolve technical or project management issues
- Monitor client needs, anticipate issues, and propose relevant services and solutions proactively
- Complete self-assessments and appraisals, accept feedback, and demonstrate improvements
- Provide continuous feedback to trainees and associates and encourage collaboration
- Uphold BDO core values (Ownership, Collaboration, Respect & Ethics) and demonstrate exceptional client services (ECS)
- Promote brand visibility and market exposure where possible
- Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to organized training sessions
- Provide inputs in technical matters within the team and support junior team members
Experience & skills
- 2–4 years post-qualification experience in an established Deal Advisory practice
- Knowledge of deals in GCC/MENA region (advantage)
- CA qualified applicants with Financial Due Diligence experience prioritized; applicants with CFA and Big 4 FDD background considered
- Good written and verbal communication skills; confident in client interactions
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to assimilate and communicate new information (legal and practice developments) quickly and accurately
- Ability to draft proposals, reports and documentation to a high standard per internal guidelines
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to market and practice changes
