Job description
The Business Development Executive – Skiply Sales at RAKBANK is responsible for driving revenue growth and merchant adoption for the bank’s Skiply digital payment product. Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Head of Education – Skiply, the role operates within the banking and fintech ecosystem, working closely with SME Business, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver seamless merchant acquiring and payment solutions. The position focuses on identifying, onboarding, and retaining merchants and educational institutions, managing ERP integrations for schools, overseeing e-commerce setup and activation, and ensuring compliance with KYC and regulatory standards. The role also involves monitoring merchant transaction volumes, designing retention strategies to reduce attrition and dormancy, supporting merchant gateway operations, and managing end-to-end payment solution implementation including integrations and chargeback handling, while maintaining strict confidentiality and regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve agreed volume and revenue targets for Skiply
- Identify, source, and onboard new merchants with a target of at least 8 new businesses per month
- Generate potential transaction volumes of approximately 35 million through merchant acquisition
- Offer ERP integration solutions to schools and manage integration expectations
- Monitor merchant transactions and volumes to design retention strategies that minimize attrition and dormancy
- Collaborate with SME teams for lead generation and deal closure while sourcing independent leads
- Ensure all merchant documentation complies with bank requirements and regulatory standards
- Deliver merchant gateway and digital payment solutions with high service quality
- Manage end-to-end e-commerce setup, activation, system integration, and chargeback handling
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with KYC and regulatory guidelines
Experience & skills
- Hold a university degree or equivalent qualification
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or merchant acquiring
- Demonstrate strong understanding of POS systems, e-commerce domains, and card acquiring business
- Demonstrate knowledge of digital POS channels and payment solution implementation
- Possess working knowledge of KYC, compliance, and merchant onboarding processes
