Job description
Airwallex has in-principle approval from the Central Bank of the UAE for Stored Value Facilities and Category II Retail Payment Services licences, and this Enterprise Risk Manager helps turn that approval into a working risk function. Based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai within the Global Risk team, you will adapt the global enterprise risk architecture for the UAE, from risk appetite and taxonomy to limits, escalation and decision rights. Regulatory Compliance, Legal and UAE leadership help shape governance that meets CBUAE expectations. As an independent second-line advisor, you will challenge initiatives that stretch risk appetite, regulatory expectations or control maturity. New products, payment services, partnerships and operating-model changes all pass through your risk assessment. Incidents, issues, trends and KRIs become clear reporting for UAE management, regional leadership, risk committees and, where needed, the Board or regulators. Crisis management and resilience planning include escalation triggers, business continuity and severe-but-plausible scenario exercises. Dashboards, automation and data quality improvements feed back into the global risk agenda. Candidates bring 5 to 7+ years in risk, compliance, controls or audit within financial services or payments, hands-on CBUAE exposure and a relevant degree, with fintech and cross-border payments experience preferred.
