Job description
The Head of Brand Acquisition and Concessions - Luxury Retail at Al Tayer Insignia is a strategically critical leadership role responsible for driving brand acquisition and franchise partnership strategies across Fashion, Jewellery, and Home categories, while managing concession partnerships in department stores including Harvey Nichols Dubai, Bloomingdale’s Dubai, Bloomingdale’s Kuwait, and ecommerce channels. The role oversees sourcing and executing new franchise partnerships in line with strategic growth commitments, managing concession brands’ sales performance and KPIs, and leading the creation of tailored brand development plans aligned with GCC opportunities and customer demand. The position requires managing brand principal visits including CEOs and Vice Presidents, conducting mall and store floor walks, working with Finance on business plan delivery, collaborating with Legal on complex franchise agreement negotiations, and overseeing end-to-end onboarding of new franchise brands. Additional responsibilities include consistent performance reporting, risk management of existing partnerships, forecasting market trends, aligning concession business strategies with wider company objectives, ensuring customer-centric alignment with own bought product strategies, executing trading activities with marketing-led 360 exposure plans, customer activations, window takeovers, in-store experiences, and maintaining premium service standards. The role demands stakeholder management across functions such as commercial, personal shopping, marketing, CRM, legal, joint ventures, projects, finance, and operations, while negotiating favorable contract terms, driving strategic concession projects, aligning brand strategies with commercial KPIs, and maximizing sales opportunities. Required capabilities include a minimum of 12 years’ experience in premium/luxury retail in brand management or retail buying, proven leadership in managing cross functional teams, financial acumen with strong P&L understanding, confident negotiation and legal documentation skills, strategic and analytical thinking, strong organizational skills for multi-project management, high-level networking skills, professional communication and presentation abilities, multilingual proficiency (English required, Italian, French, or Arabic advantageous), integrity in handling sensitive information, and a results-driven approach. The role also requires strong awareness of global and regional fashion/retail trends, customer shopping behaviors, and the ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to enhance the Al Tayer luxury retail portfolio.

- Source, review, and identify new brand partnership opportunities across Fashion, Jewellery, and Home categories
- Manage the brand acquisition pipeline to ensure opportunities are mapped and developments captured
- Keep senior leadership updated on key developments through clear communication
- Oversee creation and pitching of brand development plans aligned with GCC opportunities and customer demand
- Manage agendas for principal brand visits including CEOs and Vice Presidents
- Conduct mall and store floor walks with principal brands showcasing the retail portfolio
- Work with Finance on business plans aligned with strategic and financial objectives
- Collaborate with Legal to manage franchise agreement negotiations and communicate with stakeholders
- Oversee end-to-end onboarding of new franchise brands
- Manage concession brands’ sales performance and KPIs within department stores
- Provide consistent performance reporting and highlight opportunities and risks weekly
- Manage risks with current partnerships and propose action-oriented plans
- Analyze international markets and assist in forecasting to maintain relevant concession business strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create, adapt, and deliver short- and long-term concession goals
- Research customer trends and shopping behaviors to identify new brand or category opportunities
- Align concession strategies with own bought product strategies in collaboration with Buying teams
- Plan and execute trading of brands with marketing support on 360 campaigns, activations, and experiences
- Ensure premium service and quality standards from concession brands
- Build and maintain relationships with concession brands as principal point of contact
- Develop effective relationships with internal stakeholders across commercial, marketing, CRM, legal, finance, operations, and projects
- Negotiate favorable contract terms in line with business objectives and review regularly
- Identify new partnerships aligned with company strategy
- Align brand and concession strategies with Vice President of Buying
- Collaborate on concession projects to drive KPIs and performance
- Connect brand strategy to commercial KPIs to maximize sales opportunities
Experience & skills
- Possess minimum 12 years of experience in retail buying or brand management within the premium/luxury sector
- Demonstrate strong interest in Fashion and Retail with awareness of global and regional fashion and retail trends
- Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills with senior leadership
- Show strong people management skills to lead and facilitate cross functional teams
- Have strong financial acumen and proven P&L understanding
- Be a confident negotiator with ability to interpret and manage legal documents
