Job description
Lending against trade flows carries risk at every stage, from the borrower's balance sheet to the fine print in the financing documents, and this Credit Manager role in Dubai is there to catch it. DP World, the ports, logistics and supply chain group operating in 73 countries, runs a trade finance book covering receivables & payables financing, import/export financing, invoice discounting/factoring, commodity trade financing, inventory financing, buy-sell transactions and risk participation (funded & unfunded). Each borrower goes through credit due diligence on management, financial, industry and business risk. Reading financial statements closely is part of the daily routine, feeding early warning signals and collections activity. When a deal is in progress, term sheets and loan related documentation are vetted with borrowers so credit and operational risks are flagged before signing. Portfolio exposure is managed proactively, and remediation and recoveries fall under your remit when accounts go wrong. External partners such as risk consultants, recovery agents, insurance companies and brokers are regular contacts. Throughout, the work stays aligned with DP World's internal policies, processes and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
