Job description
The Service Specialist III-GBA role involves supervising, directing, and performing all phases of rigging up and rigging down of service line equipment at work locations both onshore and offshore. Under general supervision, the position provides planning necessary for jobs, including equipment setup, well site direction, and customer-related support activities. The role is responsible for maintaining, setting up, testing, and operating equipment at customer locations and field camps, monitoring instruments, and performing necessary calculations to ensure the quality of data at the well. The Service Specialist III-GBA consults with customers regarding services and products, promotes strong customer relations at the well site, and ensures customer satisfaction with job results. The position includes mentoring and training lower-level Service Operators and Operator Assistants, properly maintaining equipment, and completing all required job documentation. The role requires conducting pre-job toolbox safety meetings, reviewing and verifying job plans with customer representatives, managing required changes, and reviewing information received from Business Development to ensure best practices are followed and that proposed job plans meet customer expectations efficiently. The position also requires coordination and communication with other Product Service Lines (PSLs) and third parties to ensure tool and well site activity compatibility. The role is part of Halliburton’s Operations Job Family within the Testing and Subsea Product Service Line, supporting oil field drilling activities including underbalanced drilling and managed pressure drilling.

- Supervise, direct, and perform all phases of rigging up and rigging down service line equipment on onshore and offshore work locations
- Plan jobs including equipment setup, well site direction, and customer-related support activities
- Maintain, set up, test, and operate equipment at customer locations and field camps
- Monitor instruments and perform calculations to ensure quality of well data
- Consult with customers on services and products and promote customer satisfaction at the well site
- Mentor and train lower-level Service Operators and Operator Assistants in areas of expertise
- Properly maintain equipment and complete all required job documentation
- Conduct pre-job toolbox safety meetings and review and verify job plans with customer representatives
- Manage changes to job plans and ensure best practices and customer expectations are met efficiently
- Communicate with other Product Service Lines and third parties to ensure tool and well site activity compatibility
Experience & skills
- Hold a high school diploma
- Possess at least 9 years of experience in oil field drilling activities
- Demonstrate at least 5 years of experience in underbalanced drilling and/or managed pressure drilling
- Meet the minimum competency requirements for Service Specialist III-GBA
- Exhibit strong leadership capability and communication proficiency
- Demonstrate good mathematical acumen
- Demonstrate good reading comprehension and writing skills
- Be capable of working in onshore and offshore operational environments
