Job description
The Backend Engineer (Data) role at Fuse Energy, a renewable energy startup building a fully integrated energy company across solar, wind, hydrogen projects, real-time power trading, and distributed energy installations, focuses on designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure to power analytics, reporting, and product capabilities. Operating in a hybrid setup in Dubai, this position is responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable data pipelines that support analytics and reporting needs, while owning the design and evolution of analytical schemas that translate business logic into structured and intuitive data models. The role includes migrating and transforming data from Postgres into Clickhouse with emphasis on performance and reliability, and developing and maintaining DBT models that reflect the business domain and enable accessible, trustworthy datasets across teams. The engineer implements robust data validation, data quality checks, and quality assurance practices to ensure reliability, eliminates duplicates, improves data consistency, and enforces clean modeling standards. The position requires strong proficiency in Python and SQL, hands-on experience with relational databases particularly Postgres, and familiarity with DBT or similar data transformation frameworks. Exposure to cloud-based data infrastructure, data orchestration tools, and CI/CD practices for data pipelines and transformations is considered a bonus. The role supports a high-growth, technology-driven renewable energy platform that integrates decentralized smart devices, grid balancing mechanisms, and scalable infrastructure to enhance grid stability and energy efficiency.
