Job description
The Business Development Manager (Legal & Professional Services) is responsible for leading the Business Development Team to support the delivery of strategic business development projects aligned with agreed Business Priorities within a legal and professional services environment. The role involves working closely with partners to grow their practices, collaborating with other practices and global offices, and advising partners on competitive tenders, client and market development, relationship management, and planning. The position requires managing client relationships through strategic client plans, reviewing fee arrangements, conducting relationship and matter reviews, and developing value-added services such as seminars and client-facing briefings. The role includes active involvement in the Client Programme by overseeing client relationships, organizing internal client team meetings, conducting market research, developing and updating client plans, and implementing the overall CRM strategy. The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing high-quality pitches, capability statements, and responding to RFPs in collaboration with partners, lawyers, pricing specialists, and delivery teams, while continuously improving pitch processes for cost efficiency. The role also includes supporting partners in developing annual business and marketing plans through detailed analysis and strategy formulation, executing campaigns to enhance market profile and reputation, and implementing communication strategies. Additionally, the position requires managing directory submissions using Matter Capture databases for Chambers, Legal 500, and IFLR listings, arranging partner interviews, capturing and reporting transactions for league tables, and supporting cross-practice business development initiatives such as client receptions and seminar programmes. The role contributes to strengthening the firm’s market presence in capital markets, corporate and M&A, finance and banking, real estate, and litigation and dispute resolution by ensuring effective use of business development tools, CRM strategy, marketing channels, and data-driven insights.

- Develop and implement strategic client plans including reviewing fee arrangements, conducting relationship and matter reviews, and creating value-added services such as seminars and client briefings
- Support and manage the Client Programme by overseeing client relationships, organizing internal meetings, conducting market research, and implementing CRM strategy
- Develop high-quality pitches, capability statements, and respond to RFPs while collaborating with partners, lawyers, and pricing specialists to secure new business opportunities
- Support partners in developing annual business and marketing plans through analysis, competitive insights, and marketing strategy development
- Design and execute marketing campaigns and communication strategies to enhance market profile and reputation of the Saudi office
- Manage directory submissions including Chambers, Legal 500, and IFLR using Matter Capture databases and coordinate partner interviews
- Capture and report transaction data for league tables and maintain accurate data reporting for business development insights
- Support cross-practice business development initiatives including client receptions, seminars, and regional programmes aligned with business priorities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve processes, optimize infrastructure, and ensure efficient delivery of business development services
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of business development or marketing experience within a law firm or professional services firm
- Exhibit fluency in Arabic and English
- Possess experience in CRM strategy implementation, client relationship management, and market research
- Demonstrate expertise in tender management, RFP responses, pitch development, and marketing strategy execution
- Show ability to manage client programmes, develop business plans, and execute communication and campaign strategies
- Demonstrate proficiency in using Matter Capture databases and handling directory submissions such as Chambers, Legal 500, and IFLR
- Exhibit strong analytical capabilities and ability to work with data reporting, competitive analysis, and pricing strategies
