Job description
Financial Controller role based in Dubai responsible for overseeing end-to-end financial reporting, accounting accuracy, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning within a corporate or financial services environment. The role ensures accurate preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while maintaining integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management processes. It requires full compliance with IFRS accounting standards, statutory regulations, tax laws, VAT submissions, and regulatory reporting obligations. The role coordinates external audits, manages audit processes, and ensures proper financial documentation, internal controls, and governance frameworks are maintained. It also involves leading budgeting and forecasting cycles, performing variance analysis, and delivering financial insights to support strategic planning, investment evaluation, and business decision-making. The Financial Controller evaluates investment opportunities, supports financial modelling and scenario analysis, and assists in transaction structuring, funding arrangements, and cost optimization initiatives. Additionally, the role focuses on strengthening internal controls, improving financial systems and reporting efficiency, and ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of financial data across the organization.

Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts while ensuring accuracy of financial records across all reporting cycles
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management processes to ensure financial stability
- Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, tax regulations, VAT submissions, and statutory reporting requirements
- Coordinate external audits and manage end-to-end audit processes including documentation and compliance support
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes to support financial planning and decision-making
- Provide financial insights and reporting to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and business performance monitoring
- Evaluate financial feasibility of investment opportunities and support financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Strengthen internal financial controls, governance frameworks, and accounting procedures to improve accuracy and compliance
- Implement process and system improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency and data integrity
Experience & skills
- Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
- 5–8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or corporate finance roles
- Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and financial regulations
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and variance analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Experience in tax compliance, VAT submissions, and regulatory reporting
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working in financial services, investment firms, or corporate finance environments preferred
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while handling confidential financial information
