Job description

The role directly leads construction efforts for a high-profile client, ensuring execution in accordance with ADNOC Onshore and project procedures and shareholder expectations, and manages Construction Leaders. Accountabilities span responsibility for construction and contractor-related deliverables; supervision of all areas on small projects and a subset/discipline on larger projects; management and execution of multiple field disciplines or assigned subsets per contract requirements and company operating policies; execution of work to specified quality standards and project requirements; control of project cost and schedule for assigned disciplines; management of installation, commissioning, and completion activities for materials and equipment; coordination of field personnel work schedules to maximize utilization and meet schedule; monitoring work progress and reporting against the plan; defining and communicating safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities; ensuring workers receive appropriate training, Health and Safety and site-specific inductions; and initiating safety, quality, and environmental processes including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment, and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements. Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all phases of construction to achieve timely, on-budget completion in accordance with ADNOC Onshore and project procedures
- Direct Construction Leaders, contractors, and subcontractors to uphold safety and quality standards across assigned scopes
- Manage execution of multiple field disciplines or defined subsets per contract requirements and company operating policies
- Ensure all construction work meets specified quality standards, codes, and project requirements
- Control cost and schedule for assigned disciplines and report progress and variances against plan
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and completion activities for materials and equipment to meet handover criteria
- Plan and coordinate field personnel schedules to maximize utilization and maintain schedule adherence
- Define, communicate, and enforce safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities within area(s) of control
- Deliver site training, Health and Safety and site-specific inductions; conduct toolbox talks and routine inspections
- Identify, assess, and control construction risks in line with Wood and client requirements and initiate corrective actions
- Engage stakeholders and clients with clear updates, resolving concerns and unblocking issues impacting construction
- Optimize resource utilization to improve efficiency and minimize costs without compromising quality or safety
Experience & skills
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent level of senior site experience
- Professional Engineer accreditation preferred
- Minimum 20 yearsâ construction management experience on large oil and gas development projects
- Demonstrated ability to manage contractor deliverables, multiple field disciplines, and construction documentation to contract and company standards
- Proven capability in cost and schedule control, progress monitoring, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of ADNOC Onshore procedures, regulatory codes, HSE standards, and QA/QC requirements
- Experience leading installation, commissioning, and completion activities through handover
- Excellent leadership and written/verbal communication skills with ability to work across diverse cultures
