Job description
The Murex Back Office Business Analyst role is part of the Global Markets IT Operations Squad, responsible for delivering IT services to Global Markets Operations. The position involves end-to-end ownership of support activities, change requests, and project initiatives related to Murex Back Office systems. The role acts as a key bridge between business users, IT teams, and vendors, translating operational needs into functional and technical solutions. The analyst contributes to system configuration, testing, implementation, and handover while serving as a subject matter expert for Murex Back Office capabilities across multiple asset classes. The role requires strong exposure to capital markets products, Murex workflows, and banking operations, along with the ability to manage complex initiatives under tight timelines.

Key responsibilities
- Analyze and document business and user requirements and translate them into functional specifications
- Act as the primary liaison between Global Markets Operations, IT teams, and vendors
- Engage with business stakeholders to identify needs and convert them into change or project initiatives
- Define system and data requirements and validate functional and technical designs
- Develop and refine business, functional, and testing requirements for projects and system enhancements
- Configure Murex Back Office solutions in line with business requirements
- Serve as subject matter expert for Murex Back Office tools and ensure optimal utilization of system capabilities
- Create test plans and test cases and execute system testing
- Support user training through documentation, presentations, and one-to-one sessions
- Coordinate with vendor support teams to resolve system issues and bugs
- Ensure proper technical and functional handover of projects and changes to support teams
- Assist in defining and improving business and operational processes
- Support development of system training materials and operational documentation
Experience & skills
- 7–9 years of total professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Murex Operations with strong Back Office expertise
- Hands-on experience with MxML development and Murex configuration
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a banking or banking IT project environment
- Proven experience implementing and supporting Murex v3.1 Back Office modules
- Excellent understanding of capital markets products and front-to-back trade lifecycle
- Strong exposure to static data management in Murex
- In-depth knowledge of Murex Operations workflows including pre-trade and post-trade processes
- Strong understanding of SWIFT message configurations
- Excellent knowledge of the Murex Datamart module
- Back Office functional knowledge across multiple asset classes including FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Commodities, and Structured Products
- Strong stakeholder management and requirements-gathering experience
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C1 Advanced)
