Job description
The Senior Manager – Domestic Credit is responsible for the evaluation, structuring, and assessment of credit facility proposals for non-retail customers within QNB’s domestic portfolio. The role involves in-depth financial and risk analysis, making creditworthiness recommendations, monitoring borrower performance, and ensuring compliance with the bank’s credit risk framework and regulatory policies. The incumbent provides advisory support to subsidiaries and coordinates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality credit processing and control.

Key responsibilities
- Perform in-depth credit analysis of proposals, ensuring compliance with policies and industry best practices
- Evaluate borrower/project risk through business data, financial statements, and feasibility studies
- Recommend approval or rejection of credit requests based on risk assessments and policy alignment
- Review and act on risk assessments from branches and subsidiaries
- Ensure timely submission of all required credit documentation and financial statements
- Assign accurate Obligor Risk Ratings using Moody’s Risk Analysis methodology
- Advise on rating upgrades or downgrades based on updated borrower risk profiles
- Coordinate with business units to ensure credit requests are processed within turnaround time (TAT)
- Reject credit applications that do not meet bank criteria or pose high risk of default
- Ensure compliance with all credit covenants and deliverables per Group Credit policies
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Information Technology
- MBA or equivalent banking-related training is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate banking or risk management
- Extensive experience in credit assessment, financial analysis, and loan structuring
- Proficiency in Moody’s Risk Analysis and Obligor Risk Rating systems
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet preparation, financial modeling, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of credit risk methodologies, interest rate modeling, and financial products
- Understanding of economic principles and international accounting standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
