The Market Fulfilment Unit Manager (Retail Logistics and Goods Flow Operations) at IKEA Kuwait is responsible for leading and developing the Unit Management Team to achieve organizational goals by delivering an efficient, profitable, and customer-focused logistics operation. The role ensures the overall execution of market central fulfillment priorities, including managing goods flow management processes to maintain optimal stock replenishment across all customer meeting points while delivering an excellent customer service fulfillment experience. The position involves overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations within the Market Fulfilment Unit (MFU), including goods receiving, warehouse operations, distribution planning, and home delivery logistics. The manager ensures delivery staging and loading processes are executed according to established working methods and routines, while contributing to the store business plan and logistics action planning with relevant goods flow insights. The role requires sales space allocation for external range articles, ensuring efficient picking and assignment for home delivery racking. The manager is responsible for maintaining high goods availability at the lowest possible cost through cost optimization and efficient inventory management. Additionally, the role includes ensuring compliance with IKEA code of conduct, internal regulations, and local legislation related to health and safety compliance, security policy compliance, and environmental sustainability. The position contributes to sustainability strategy implementation, reducing environmental impact, and achieving long-term profitability. The manager plays a key role in team management, succession planning, and people development while fostering a strong organizational culture aligned with IKEA values. The role also involves active participation in the country management team, driving digital transformation initiatives, ensuring cross-functional collaboration, and maintaining integration with stakeholders to achieve business objectives and operational excellence in a retail logistics environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Market Fulfilment Unit goods flow team to ensure high goods availability, efficient logistics operations, and delivery of customer service fulfillment at the lowest possible cost
- Manage end-to-end goods flow management including goods receiving, warehouse operations, stock replenishment, distribution planning, and home delivery logistics within the MFU
- Ensure delivery staging and loading processes are executed according to agreed working methods and routines while maintaining operational efficiency
- Contribute to store business planning and logistics action planning by providing goods flow insights, feedback, and ensuring implementation of agreed logistics actions
- Allocate and manage sales space for external range articles and ensure efficient picking and assignment for home delivery racking
- Ensure compliance with IKEA code of conduct, health and safety compliance, security policy compliance, and environmental sustainability standards while reporting security breaches and following emergency procedures
- Drive cost optimization, KPI tracking, and operational performance improvements while ensuring accurate execution of financial and operational strategies
- Lead team management activities including recruitment, succession planning, and development of team members to ensure a competent and engaged workforce
- Support digital transformation initiatives and ensure collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to achieve integration and business objectives
- Contribute to sustainability strategy implementation and environmental impact reduction while ensuring long-term profitability and responsible retail operations
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate experience working in retail and/or logistics operations with proven exposure to goods flow management, supply chain management, and warehouse operations within a customer-focused environment
- Exhibit prior experience in team management including leading, developing, and managing teams, preferably within retail or logistics sectors, with responsibility for performance and succession planning
- Show capability in setting and implementing action plans, logistics action planning, and business planning while providing clear direction and following up on goals and operational targets
- Demonstrate strong numerical skills to support cost optimization, KPI tracking, inventory management, and operational performance analysis
- Possess experience in managing stock replenishment, delivery staging and loading, and home delivery logistics processes to ensure efficient goods availability and customer satisfaction
- Exhibit knowledge of health and safety compliance, security policy compliance, and environmental sustainability practices within retail and logistics operations
- Demonstrate ability to contribute to digital transformation initiatives and adapt to evolving retail supply chain technologies and processes
- Show capability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and participate in management teams to ensure integration, alignment, and achievement of business objectives
