Job description
Most cost certainty on a commercial real estate project is won or lost before the contract is signed, and this Dubai position leads that pre-contract work for Turner & Townsend's real estate team. Cost plans, estimates and tender documentation are prepared using methods of measurement such as NRM, POMI and CESMM, often in CostX. Value engineering and cost-effective alternatives are put forward to keep scope, budget and quality aligned. Risk assessments inform contingency budgets, which are managed carefully. Preliminaries, overheads and material costs are reviewed and analysed in detail. Regular reports flag any deviation from budget, and cost strategies are presented to clients and senior stakeholders. Several projects run at once, and junior cost managers look to you for mentoring and training. Industry standards, client requirements and regulatory obligations frame every recommendation. At least 10 years in cost management with a strong pre-contract focus, mandatory UAE market experience and knowledge of local cost benchmarks are required, with MRICS or AIQS highly preferred.
