Job description
The Merchant Success Consultant at Tap Payments is responsible for managing after-sales support and technical communications with merchants in Qatar, acting as a bridge between business, product, and engineering teams. This role focuses on ensuring a smooth onboarding experience, guiding merchants through integration processes including API and plugin support, and configuring account settings tailored to each business. The consultant will identify potential churn risks, anticipate merchant needs, and drive successful data ingestion. This cross-functional role requires effective collaboration with internal teams and technical fluency to resolve merchant issues and deliver seamless payment experiences across the MENA region. Tap Payments is a fintech innovator streamlining digital payment solutions for regional businesses.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Partner with the business team to provide pre-close consulting for the customer to manage expectations
- Serve as a liaison for integration and future technical conversations for merchants
- Understand and anticipate the customerās business needs and configure account settings to ensure smooth activation
- Ensure customer data is successfully ingested during onboarding
- Identify and monitor customer cancellation or churn risks
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Experience teams to ensure ongoing satisfaction
- Support merchants in technical discussions regarding APIs and plugins
- Handle additional duties as assigned to support business needs and role development
Experience & skills
- 1-2 years of role-specific experience in financial services, fintech, or high-growth startups
- Preferred university degree or relevant real-world experience
- Ability to establish credibility and maintain internal relationships
- Understanding of client, merchant, or stakeholder care
- Awareness of how the role contributes to business outcomes
- Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic fintech environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage daily responsibilities
- Capability to deliver work on time and participate in meetings
- Strong problem-solving skills and organizational ability
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are preferred
