Job description
HSBC is seeking a Director-level Investment Counsellor for its Onshore Private Banking team in Dubai, UAE. This role involves advising and delivering customized investment solutions to high-net-worth clients in partnership with Relationship Managers. The Investment Counsellor will design strategic asset allocation plans, implement suitable financial products, and continuously monitor market conditions and client portfolios. The position demands deep expertise in financial planning, strong communication and analytical skills, and a regulatory-compliant mindset. Ideal candidates will hold CFA certification, bring regional wealth advisory experience, and have a strong understanding of both private and retail banking landscapes.

Key responsibilities
- Partner with Relationship Managers to offer appropriate investment solutions to clients
- Develop comprehensive investment strategy and asset allocation proposals
- Implement investment strategies with appropriate products and services
- Collaborate with IWS and other HSBC entities for best-fit investment solutions
- Update clients on market developments and portfolio performance
- Review and adjust investment strategy regularly based on market conditions
- Guide Relationship Managers to enhance productivity
- Deliver consistent and tailored wealth management services
- Drive commercialization of new initiatives and product launches
- Support development of long-term client relationships
- Identify opportunities and ensure client needs are effectively met
- Ensure compliance with Group standards and local regulatory requirements
- Contribute to portfolio income and wealth penetration objectives
Experience & skills
- Relevant experience in wealth management and investment advisory, preferably in UAE
- Experience in managing high-net-worth client portfolios
- Expertise in financial planning and wealth products
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic and microeconomic factors
- Knowledge of local market developments and regulatory frameworks
- Experience with both retail wealth and private banking sectors
- CFA certification is mandatory
- Graduation degree required for UAE visa and work permit
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is preferred
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Valid licenses and accreditation in wealth management per UAE regulations
