Job description
The Area Sales Manager - Loan DST is responsible for developing and executing sales plans to achieve monthly targets for personal banking products through a direct sales team. The role involves maximizing market share, coaching team members, and maintaining effective sales performance. Key duties include managing attrition, recruiting staff, building relationships with key corporate clients, conducting micro marketing activities like kiosks, and reviewing MIS to identify growth opportunities. The manager is expected to lead by example, ensure participation in team-building activities, and keep up with market dynamics to inform strategic improvements. A solid understanding of retail banking products, service policies, and sales processes is essential, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key responsibilities
- Achieve monthly sales targets for personal banking products by driving team and individual performance
- Develop opportunities to increase penetration in target organizations
- Maintain headcount through recruitment and manage attrition
- Monitor KPI and KPA standards of front-line sales staff through calls and visits
- Identify and coordinate appropriate training programs for staff
- Develop relationships with senior management of client organizations to enhance cross-sell
- Serve as external liaison between bank and current or prospective markets
- Ensure participation in micro marketing and kiosk activities
- Review MIS to identify growth trends and opportunities
- Drive team engagement through huddles, training, compliance, and celebration activities
Experience & skills
- Confidence, persistence, strong personality, and excellent communication skills
- Basic knowledge of retail banking products, services, and processes
- Graduate degree, preferably MBA in Sales & Marketing
- 8–10 years of banking sales experience
