Job description
The Assistant Project Manager at Turner & Townsend supports the Senior or Lead Project Manager in delivering real estate projects across the UAE, ensuring projects meet client objectives, timelines, cost targets, and quality, sustainability, and safety standards. The role covers both pre-contract and post-contract phases, requiring a solid understanding of construction processes, commercial and contractual awareness, and strong interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders. The Assistant Project Manager ensures adherence to governance, communication, and management control systems, monitors project performance, identifies risks, and supports mitigation measures. The position involves active participation in technical and progress meetings, client stage gateway reviews, HSSE monitoring, logistics, and programme progress oversight. Additionally, the role supports the preparation of formal reports, presentations, and contract administration, including invoicing, receipts, and protection of client interests.

Key responsibilities
- Support the management of governance, communication, and control systems to ensure proper conduct and delivery of client services and works
- Review organization structures and recommend alignment measures
- Monitor project performance and initiate safety or performance improvements
- Audit compliance with management system requirements and report findings
- Identify project risks and actively manage mitigations
- Participate in weekly technical and progress meetings and client stage gateway reviews
- Support attainment of design stage deliverables, including concurrent fast-track procurements and permitting approvals
- Conduct site visits to review HSSE compliance, logistics, and programme progress
- Prepare formal reports on project progress against baselines, milestones, and KPIs
- Support preparation of weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports and presentations for the employer’s representative
- Assist in contract management and administration to protect client interests
- Support timely issuance of company invoices and receipts against agreed contracts
Experience & skills
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical qualification
- 5–7 years of project management experience in the buildings/infrastructure sector
- Pre-contract and post-contract delivery experience
- Strong understanding of construction processes, commercial, and contractual awareness
- Ability to manage and liaise with diverse clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Experience preparing technical reports, KPIs, and project progress documentation
- Desirable: experience working in the Middle East / UAE
- Desirable: recognized Project Management Qualification
- Desirable: membership or chartership in a professional industry body such as RICS
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to support a collaborative team environment
