Job description
Standard operating procedures anchor this role, and enforcing them across daily logistics, transportation, and warehousing activities becomes your main responsibility as Senior Operations Supervisor. Vehicles, equipment, budgets, and staff performance all fall under your oversight, with every piece expected to run at a level that keeps service delivery targets on track. Reverse logistics for returns and damaged goods gets managed alongside forward moving shipments, and accurate documentation keeps every operational activity traceable. You supervise and lead teams of drivers and warehouse workers, coaching them and tracking performance through KPIs and regular evaluations. External vendors and logistics providers need liaising with too, since service quality on the ground depends on how well those relationships get managed. Cross department coordination with sales, customer service, and logistics keeps goods moving and customer complaints resolved quickly. Compliance with company policy, safety regulations, and industry standards runs through scheduling, dispatch, and every process improvement you implement. Reports on operational performance go to senior management, giving them visibility into how the operation is actually running day to day.
