Job description
As part of EY's Cyber Technology Consulting team, the Manager - Cyber Security (Data Privacy and Protection Specialist) leads and manages data privacy engagements for clients across MENA. This role involves designing privacy frameworks, driving compliance strategies, and embedding privacy by design principles into client organizations. The manager also collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, oversees the implementation of privacy technologies, and delivers advisory services tailored to evolving regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Lead privacy and data protection programs including PIAs, DPIAs, and data flow mapping.
- Advise clients on compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR, UAE Federal Decree Law No. 45, DIFC DP Law, ADGM DPL, Saudi PDPL, and NDMO.
- Design and implement privacy governance frameworks and operating models.
- Provide strategic guidance on privacy by design, DLP, consent management, and third-party data risk.
- Evaluate and implement technology controls like encryption, anonymization, and PETs.
- Oversee privacy audits, readiness assessments, and response planning.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and governance teams to align strategies.
- Deliver training sessions on privacy principles and best practices.
- Manage privacy risks with third-party vendors and ensure compliance.
- Utilize tools like Securiti, OneTrust, and BigID for automation and compliance.
- Support incident response and breach notification processes.
- Track and assess evolving data privacy regulations and industry standards.
- Manage client relationships, engagement delivery, and resourcing.
- Develop reports and present findings to executive stakeholders.
- Mentor junior team members and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, cyber security, or related field.
- 6–7 years of experience in the Data Privacy and Protection domain.
- Deep understanding of data protection regulations and global privacy trends.
- Experience with privacy tools like Securiti, OneTrust, BigID.
- Project management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Proficiency in data protection technologies such as DLP, CASB, encryption, tokenization.
- Experience interpreting regulatory obligations into actionable controls.
- Excellent consulting mindset and communication skills.
- Valid passport for travel.
- Preferred certifications: CIPP/E, CIPP/M, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE, ISO 27701 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
- Experience in sector-specific data protection (healthcare, finance, government).
