Job description
The Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager at Derivās crypto exchange and virtual asset business is responsible for ensuring adherence to global regulatory frameworks governing digital assets while enabling sustainable growth and safeguarding corporate integrity and reputation. The role designs, implements, and oversees a robust compliance framework tailored to crypto markets, including crypto exchange operations, digital wallets, token listings, stablecoins, staking, and custody services. Responsibilities include defining and implementing crypto-specific compliance strategies, monitoring global crypto and blockchain regulatory developments such as MiCA, FATF Travel Rule, FinCEN, SEC/CFTC, FCA, MAS, and VARA, and ensuring internal policies remain aligned with evolving standards. The role oversees AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions compliance, crypto transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, Travel Rule compliance, suspicious activity reporting, and liaison with financial intelligence units. It leads licensing and registration efforts for Virtual Asset Service Providers across multiple jurisdictions, manages regulatory reporting obligations, identifies and mitigates compliance and operational risks including custody risks, smart contract risks, cross-border transaction risks, and fraud typologies, and acts as the primary point of contact with regulators, supervisors, and industry associations. The position also develops and executes annual compliance plans, audits, and remedial actions, and partners with product, operations, and technology teams to embed compliance-by-design principles across exchange features, token listings, and blockchain integrations within an AI-enabled organisational environment.
