Job description
The IT Operations Engineer at Deriv.com is responsible for maintaining and optimizing global IT infrastructure across 4 continents, supporting over 1,100 endpoints consisting of 90% Mac and 10% Linux devices, on-prem servers, and a state-of-the-art enterprise network environment. The role operates within the IT Operations team as part of the larger Security team, ensuring systems are secure by design while leveraging automation, AI-enabled workflows, SaaS tools, and modern hardware to enhance operational efficiency. The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for automating repetitive operational processes, maintaining infrastructure health, configuring, monitoring, and scaling systems, and ensuring reliable global connectivity including LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and site-to-site networking. The position involves managing endpoints at scale using MDM solutions for software deployment, configuration enforcement, and device compliance across global offices, supporting onboarding processes including equipment preparation, system access provisioning, and training support, and collaborating with hardware, software, and SaaS vendors to select appropriate tools. The role also requires troubleshooting hardware, software, and network/internet issues, working with network appliances such as FortiGate firewalls, Aruba access points, switches, Cisco, and pfSense technologies, and utilizing automation tools including Python, Ansible, and shell scripting (bash/zsh). The IT Operations Engineer collaborates across global teams, departments, and vendors to resolve technical issues across time zones while continuously improving infrastructure reliability, security posture, and operational efficiency. The position sits at the intersection of IT Operations and Security, requiring proactive improvements to reduce operational noise while maintaining uptime and performance. The role offers long-term career growth opportunities in Security Engineering, Cloud, Automation, Networking, and Architecture, with expectations to build scalable, secure, and intelligent infrastructure systems through automation, AI tools, and modern IT operations practices.
