Job description
IFRS 15 shapes almost everything in this position, from identifying performance obligations in customer contracts to deciding when revenue is recognised. Based in Riyadh, the role supports Al-Futtaim Automotive's BYD business and owns the revenue and receivables close at month-end, quarter-end and year-end. New and amended contracts come to you for review, with close attention to variable consideration, discounts, rebates and multiple-element arrangements. Each month brings revenue journals, accruals, deferrals and unbilled revenue adjustments, along with deferred revenue and contract balance roll-forwards. Sales, Operations and Commercial teams work closely with finance so that contract terms land correctly in the financial statements. Billing accuracy, AR ageing and expected credit loss provisions under IFRS 9 also sit with you, as do internal controls over the order-to-cash cycle. Variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods feeds management reporting and statutory disclosures. Auditors will treat you as their primary contact on revenue, and junior accountants will look to you for coaching. Expect to work in SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics, with 4 to 6 years of accounting experience behind you, including at least 2 in revenue accounting.
