Job description
The Freediving Instructor for the Sports and Entertainment division is responsible for delivering professional, safe, and engaging freediving experiences to guests while maintaining operational excellence at the dive center. Reporting directly to the Dive Center Manager, the role ensures that all courses and excursions meet or exceed PADI standards, with safety and guest satisfaction as the highest priorities. The instructor supports both pre-opening and post-opening phases, assisting in planning, operational setup, and ongoing management of the dive center. Key responsibilities include teaching and guiding freediving activities, supporting retail and sales within the dive center, and aligning operations with sustainability and marine life conservation standards. The position requires adherence to established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, while contributing to the continuous improvement of operations. The Freediving Instructor also fosters effective relationships with internal teams, guests, and external stakeholders such as training agencies, suppliers, and local authorities. The role demands professionalism, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities
- Report directly to the Dive Center Manager and assist with daily dive center operations
- Deliver all freediving courses in compliance with or exceeding PADI standards
- Lead guided freediving excursions for guests and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Support RSG Dive Operations in developing new dive centers across other assets
- Collaborate with Sustainability and RSZA departments to ensure environmental protection and marine conservation standards are met
- Assist in planning and operationalizing the dive center during pre-opening phases
- Ensure operational readiness, familiarity with dive sites, and milestone achievement
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of teaching and diving activities
- Support retail sales and guest engagement within the dive center
- Follow all functional policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines for compliance
- Enforce safety, quality, and environmental management standards for guests and staff
- Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement in operations
- Build and sustain effective working relationships with internal teams, guests, and external partners
Experience & skills
- Certified PADI Freediving Instructor (minimum 40m depth) or AIDA Freediving Instructor willing to crossover to PADI
- Minimum of 25 certified freediving students
- Active and renewed PADI Instructor status
- Experience in hospitality, freediving operations, and safety management
- Demonstrated experience across multiple freediving environments and geographical locations
- Knowledge of dive equipment management, retail operations, and marine conservation
- Valid Fit to Dive medical certification
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Strong communication, public speaking, and customer service skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines independently
- Ability to guide dives, manage guest experiences, and maintain professional conduct in a luxury resort setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Interest in marine science, conservation, and education
- Ability to engage multicultural teams and high-end clientele
- Professional grooming and presentation standards appropriate to a luxury resort
