The Assistant Manager - Buying at Max Fashion, part of Landmark Group in Dubai, UAE, plays a key role in managing footwear and fashion product assortments across retail stores and online channels. The role involves supporting the buying team in planning, sourcing, and merchandising footwear and fashion items, ensuring alignment with brand positioning, consumer trends, and sales objectives. The position requires analyzing market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to make informed purchasing decisions, optimizing inventory levels, margins, and product mix. The Assistant Manager collaborates with internal teams, suppliers, and vendors to manage product development, assortment planning, and procurement processes. They also support omni-channel retail strategies to enhance customer experience and sales performance across both physical stores and digital platforms.

Key responsibilities
- Support the buying team in sourcing, selecting, and merchandising footwear and fashion products aligned with brand standards and consumer trends.
- Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to inform purchasing and product assortment decisions.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to manage procurement, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
- Plan and monitor inventory levels, product mix, and margins to maximize sales and profitability across all channels.
- Support the development and execution of omni-channel strategies to enhance in-store and online customer experiences.
- Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to inform buying decisions and drive business objectives.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and e-commerce, to ensure product availability and promotional alignment.
- Provide support in category management, trend forecasting, and reporting on sales performance and consumer insights to senior management.
Experience & skills
- Experience in retail buying, preferably in footwear and fashion categories.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, footwear products, and consumer preferences.
- Proficiency in inventory management, merchandising planning, and omni-channel retail operations.
- Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to drive purchasing decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong planning, forecasting, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of e-commerce merchandising and digital retail platforms.
