Job description
The British International School Riyadh (BISR) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior School Mathematics Teacher for its Al Hamra Campus to begin in August 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role designed for individuals passionate about learning and student development. BISR follows the English National Curriculum and emphasizes a holistic approach to education, with strong co-curricular, well-being, and student leadership components. Teachers at BISR are expected to be reflective practitioners and enthusiastic team players, with a commitment to ongoing professional growth and intercultural understanding. Candidates should be qualified teachers, preferably with experience in both UK and international contexts.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality mathematics lessons to secondary students aged 11ā18.
- Use assessment and feedback strategies to ensure student progress.
- Create a positive classroom climate supporting well-being and holistic growth.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons aligned to the English National Curriculum.
- Participate actively in co-curricular programmes, community events, and enrichment opportunities.
- Support studentsā pastoral care and intercultural awareness.
- Use data and assessment to monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support school-wide goals.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff.
Experience & skills
- Qualified Teacher Status with a PGCE or B.Ed in a relevant subject.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in secondary mathematics.
- Experience teaching the English National Curriculum.
- Proven ability to manage diverse learning needs, including high achievers and EAL students.
- Strong understanding of Assessment for Learning strategies.
- Experience with pastoral care and supporting student well-being.
- Willingness to contribute to co-curricular and enrichment programmes.
- Good ICT skills for teaching and administration.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Cultural sensitivity and willingness to work in an international setting.
