Job description
The Master Technician - Construction Equipment role at Al-Futtaim Automotive FAMCO is responsible for delivering high-quality service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair activities on heavy construction machinery to ensure minimal downtime and maximum customer satisfaction. The role is based in Dubai and includes both workshop-based and field-based responsibilities, covering inspections, advanced troubleshooting, component removal and installation, and proactive customer support. The position requires hands-on expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, strict adherence to ISO documentation standards, and effective time and resource management. The Master Technician also supports junior technicians through guidance and knowledge sharing, maintains high standards of safety, housekeeping, and professionalism, and continuously updates technical skills to keep pace with new equipment, systems, and technologies within the construction equipment portfolio.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Perform removal, installation, disassembly, and assembly of machine components including engines, transmissions, axles, and related systems
- Carry out advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and inspections to identify equipment faults and determine repair solutions
- Conduct machine inspections and customer visits to support service quality and generate additional service revenue
- Maintain zero customer complaints through professional behavior, attitude, and workmanship
- Manage time and resources effectively to meet deadlines and complete assigned jobs on schedule
- Maintain accurate job cards, service reports, and time sheets in compliance with ISO standards
- Support and guide junior technicians through teamwork and knowledge sharing
- Adapt to new technologies, products, and operational requirements while maintaining performance standards
- Uphold safety standards, housekeeping practices, and proper care of company assets and vehicles
- Continuously update technical knowledge on new products, systems, and service procedures
Experience & skills
- Hold a technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering
- Demonstrate two to five years of hands-on experience servicing and repairing heavy machinery or construction equipment
- Demonstrate experience working in both workshop and field service environments
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and fault-finding capability
- Apply hands-on expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Demonstrate ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical drawings
- Hold a valid driving license
- Demonstrate basic computer literacy for job reporting and documentation
- Demonstrate willingness to work flexible hours based on operational requirements
