Job description
The Senior Auditor, Technology Audit at Omantel is responsible for independently conducting Telecom and IT Network Infrastructure audits, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, and other components. The role involves vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, network architecture reviews, and compliance monitoring in alignment with the Internal Audit Plan. The position supports audit documentation, reporting, follow-ups, and coordination with internal business units to mitigate operational and financial risks through technical assurance and best practices.

Key responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of Telecom and IT Network Infrastructure audits in accordance with the Internal Audit Plan
- Lead evaluations of network architecture, configuration, access, and security controls
- Perform Vulnerability Assessment (VA) and Penetration Testing (PT) to detect potential risks
- Coordinate audit observations and recommendation implementation with IT and department heads
- Document audit implementation activities and perform follow-up audits
- Review and prepare Internal Audit reports ensuring accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness
- Evaluate compliance monitoring reports and highlight operational or financial risks
- Ensure timely response to corrective action requests (CARs) from Quality Assurance Reviews
- Lead compliance audits ensuring adherence to Omanās legal and regulatory frameworks
- Identify and escalate audit gaps and risks potentially impacting Omantel's operations
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or related field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in technology/network audit
- Certification such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Experience with LAN, WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, and network security
- Ability to conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
- Familiarity with telecom and IT network architecture reviews
- Strong audit reporting and documentation skills
- Understanding of legal and regulatory compliance frameworks in Oman
- Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Intermediate to advanced competency in ethics, compliance, and adaptability
