Job description
The Senior Investment Advisor at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) in Private Banking is responsible for delivering end-to-end banking and investment advisory services to high-net-worth clients. The role encompasses reviewing financial statements from investment firms for accuracy and regulatory compliance, developing new investment ideas, providing advice to Private Banking clients and colleagues, and analyzing market trends, economic cycles, and asset class forecasts. The advisor sources and structures investment products in collaboration with external parties, manages client portfolios including buy/sell decisions, estimates investment income over time, and ensures continuity of portfolio management. The position involves managing a team, setting objectives, delivering formal and informal feedback, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across policies, procedures, and processes. The advisor is expected to maintain strong client relationships, provide superior customer service in line with ADCB standards, and leverage tools such as Bloomberg PORT, BDP, structured product pricing tools, and DLIB for portfolio construction and reporting.

Key responsibilities
- Review financial statements from investment firms to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Develop new investment ideas and provide advice to Private Banking clients and colleagues to generate wealth and investment returns
- Conduct market research and analyze business, economic cycles, and asset class forecasts to advise on trends and potential investment areas
- Source and structure investment products with external parties to offer tailored solutions to private clients
- Estimate income from investments over time, considering interest rates, dividends, and other factors, to provide tailored financial advice
- Make buy/sell decisions on client portfolios and ensure continuity of portfolio management services
- Manage self and team in line with ADCB people management policies, including setting objectives, managing performance, providing feedback, and developing the team
- Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures, and processes to ensure procedural compliance and best-in-class service
- Identify opportunities for organizational and departmental change initiatives, programs, and projects based on best practices
- Deliver the bankβs service standards and demonstrate commitment to ADCBβs customer service promise in all interactions
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 8 years experience in Private Banking or asset management in investment advisory or portfolio management roles
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent desirable
- Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, economic drivers, and forecasting
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Bloomberg PORT, BDP, structured product pricing tools, and DLIB
- Ability to articulate technical information clearly to clients
- Strong client relationship management and customer-focused skills
- Written and spoken English proficiency
