Job description
The Senior Operations Lead β Captain Acquisition & Market Operations at Careem is responsible for scaling the company's supply footprint in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Al Ain by driving on-ground captain acquisition, supplier onboarding, and operational readiness. This role manages the full lifecycle of captain acquisition, including coordinating with third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers, tracking fulfillment targets, distributing uniforms, conducting training initiatives, and maintaining detailed documentation of supply health. The lead ensures operational alignment with Careem's growth plans, optimizes workflows, resolves supplier and captain issues, and provides strategic guidance to the team. The position requires hands-on experience in fast-moving acquisition, logistics, and operational environments, applying data-driven decision-making to enhance efficiency, supply readiness, and long-term growth.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Own and lead the full captain acquisition process across AUH, SHJ, and AL Ain
- Initiate and manage onboarding conversations with 3PL partners and logistics suppliers
- Align captain supply with Careemβs growth plans ensuring 3PLs meet their commitments
- Track and enforce fulfillment targets for captain delivery
- Distribute captain swag/uniforms and coordinate training initiatives
- Build and nurture relationships with 3PL providers for trust and long-term collaboration
- Serve as the point of contact for resolving operational issues with suppliers and captains
- Maintain clear documentation and reporting of acquisition progress and supply health
- Manage and guide the team to ensure direction, accountability, and high-quality execution
- Apply strategic thinking to anticipate gaps, optimize workflows, and shape long-term initiatives
Experience & skills
- 3β5 years of experience in acquisition, logistics, or operations in a fast-moving environment (food tech, q-commerce, mobility)
- Proven track record in on-ground operations or supplier/vendor management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Intermediate Excel proficiency; PowerPoint is a plus
- Analytical mindset with comfort handling numbers and supply metrics
- Proficiency in Hindi or Urdu preferred; Arabic not mandatory
- Ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently and thrive in ambiguity
