Job description
QNB is seeking a seasoned Vice President to lead Global Financial Crime Audits. This senior role requires deep experience in auditing financial crime risks across international banking operations. The position focuses on assessing and enhancing the financial crime risk (FCR) compliance programs at both the Head Office and international levels, ensuring alignment with global best practices and local regulations. The incumbent will design audit frameworks, lead assessments, and coordinate with internal teams to mitigate financial crime risk, while integrating data analytics into audit methodologies and contributing to high-level strategic audit planning.

Key responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive FCR Audit Coverage Framework to define the audit team's role and coverage across domestic and international units.
- Identify and map the FCR audit universe, ensuring coverage of all key risk areas through dedicated or embedded audits.
- Conduct FCR risk assessments for Head Office and international branches to support audit planning.
- Assess the adequacy and implementation of financial crime compliance frameworks across both first and second lines of defence.
- Perform end-to-end audits covering business lines, control functions, and support units, with actionable recommendations.
- Coordinate with other Group Internal Audit teams to embed consistent FCR audit standards and practices.
- Leverage data analytics in audit execution to identify control gaps and risks not captured by traditional reviews.
- Implement the FCR audit plan as approved by the Board Audit & Compliance Committee, and track progress and deviations.
- Submit timely status reports and escalate delays with justifications as needed.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, banking, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CMA, CPA, CA, ACCA, CISA, CFE, CAMS, or ICA.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in audit, with at least 8 years in a managerial role in financial crime audit or compliance within an international bank.
- Strong subject matter expertise in Financial Crime Risk and audit methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of FCR-related international regulations, audit frameworks, and control environments.
- Proficiency in data analytics as applied to risk identification and audit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all management levels.
- Leadership capabilities with proven performance management and team empowerment skills.
- Understanding of international auditing and accounting standards, as well as FCR regulations and industry guidance.
