Job description
he Assistant Manager – Product Control in the Global Markets & Treasury (GMT) Business Finance team is responsible for providing finance support and analytics to Segment/Product Heads. The role ensures Group financial policies and control frameworks are consistently applied across GMT business units. Key responsibilities include reviewing front office desk P&L reports, providing commentary and substantiation, testing hedge effectiveness, maintaining hedge accounting documentation, ensuring compliance with IFRS 9, preparing Business Requirement Documents for system implementation and upgrades, providing monthly/quarterly/annual analytics and commentary on treasury balance sheet movements, reviewing market conformity reports, analyzing key market and operational risks, and ensuring investments are valued using independent pricing sources with sound rationale for unlisted or thinly traded instruments.

Key responsibilities
- Review front office desk profit and loss reports and provide commentary to substantiate the P&L
- Test effectiveness of hedges and maintain documentation ensuring hedge accounting aligns with IFRS 9
- Prepare Business Requirement Documents for new system implementations and upgrades to existing systems
- Provide monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual analytics and commentary on treasury balance sheet movements, market drivers, and business activities
- Review Market Conformity reports and escalate issues to appropriate levels
- Review and analyze key market and operational risks for the business units
- Ensure all investments are valued using independent pricing sources and sound rationale for unlisted or thinly traded investments
Experience & skills
- Possess a university degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field, with a preference for professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CFA, CIMA, or ACA.
- Have 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in finance within a large banking environment, specifically in treasury products, hedge accounting, and IFRS 9 financial reporting.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of treasury products, transactions, and relevant banking regulations applicable to UAE financial markets, with the ability to apply these standards in daily operations and reporting.
- Proven ability to prepare high-quality financial analyses, commentary, and reports for senior management and business stakeholders, ensuring all outputs meet internal control and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in conducting detailed risk assessments for market, credit, and operational exposure related to treasury activities, and providing recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance financial outcomes.
- Skilled in developing, documenting, and implementing Business Requirement Documents for treasury systems, contributing to system enhancements, and ensuring alignment with financial control frameworks.
- Ability to review and analyze Market Conformity reports, identify deviations or anomalies, and escalate appropriately while recommending process or control improvements.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with competency in preparing written reports and delivering verbal presentations, and knowledge of Arabic preferred for effective stakeholder engagement in UAE markets.
