Job description
This Construction Manager role covers new build, retrofit, and expansion projects across the MEATR region, based out of Dubai with 40 to 60 percent of time spent traveling to other sites in the region. Fulfillment Centers, Sortation Centers, Delivery Stations, Quick Commerce sites, and the auxiliary buildings that support them all fall within scope, alongside renovations and tenant improvements at existing facilities. You sit inside the Engineering Team, managing projects and construction from site selection through contract execution, and reviewing job budgets and contractor bid packages to catch and resolve discrepancies. Developers and General Contractors deal with you directly, since the role serves as Amazon's point of interface with them and as the primary link between construction and the teams equipping, furnishing, and operating the facilities. Projects range from relatively small renovations up to new facilities valued above 100 million US dollars, often running several at once across the MEATR portfolio. Negotiating contracts and contract changes with developers and General Contractors sits alongside preparing reports, specifications, and technical analysis that define design requirements, equipment, and services. Project performance gets assessed through Key Performance Indicators covering safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability, with designs reviewed for conformance to current building specifications. Regulatory bodies and Authority Having Jurisdiction entities also come into the picture, since negotiations with them fall under this role when permitting and approvals are on the line. AutoCAD, Building Information Modeling, and scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project support the planning and design work behind every project.
