Job description
KBR is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead the design phase of a landmark mixed-use infrastructure development in Riyadh. The role involves overseeing multiple design packages including iconic, hospitality, public realm, and commercial assets. The Senior Design Manager will report to the Technical Director and coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The position also requires mentoring junior team members and ensuring compliance with Saudi legislation, codes, and best practices.

Key responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the asset design production process to ensure alignment with program objectives
- Establish design practices, templates, tools, and partnerships for stakeholder alignment and approval processes
- Develop and manage a detailed project plan for the design phases
- Oversee day-to-day design activities and resources; participate in design meetings
- Communicate design KPIs, milestones, deliverables, risks and issues to project stakeholders
- Conduct feasibility studies, vendor selection, and proposal evaluations
- Ensure quality control of design documentation
- Manage scope of work to address gaps and align with client objectives
- Oversee design process to comply with KSA legislation and standards
- Manage the design review process
- Track design progress against scope, schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks
- Mitigate design-related risks and issues
- Train and manage junior design team members
Experience & skills
- BSc in Engineering, Architecture or equivalent
- Minimum of 15 years total experience, with 8 years in a similar role
- At least 5 years of Middle East experience
- Experience in managing large-scale capital projects including design, scheduling, cost, and contracts
- Strong understanding of civil and infrastructure project operations
- Excellent report writing and communication skills in English
- Proficiency in MS Office
