Job description
The Assistant Manager - Retail Operations is responsible for increasing business revenues and ensuring operational excellence across retail stores in Dubai, UAE. The role oversees implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), visual merchandising guidelines, staff recruitment, training, and performance management. The position drives sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction by setting store targets, optimizing operational costs, monitoring inventory, and ensuring adherence to loss prevention and company policies. Additionally, the role involves project management for new store design and layout, collaborating with architects and project teams, providing guidance during merchandising setup, and ensuring enhanced brand visibility. The Assistant Manager also supports employee development, conducts regional sales and operations meetings, aligns with Area Managers and Store Managers, and coordinates with Brand General Managers and Buyers/Planners to maximize efficiency, engagement, and operational success.

Key responsibilities
- Achieve quantitative performance measures including units per transaction, average transaction value, sales per month, sales per square feet, sales turnover, shrinkage control, and conversion rate improvement
- Set store sales targets and guide Area Managers and Store Managers to maximize productivity and profitability
- Manage operational costs and implement automation to reduce expenses
- Adhere to and enforce company SOPs, policies, procedures, and loss prevention audit guidelines across all stores
- Oversee implementation and execution of Visual Merchandising guidelines in all stores
- Recruit, train, and develop staff on sales techniques, customer service, teamwork, and brand-specific etiquettes
- Conduct performance appraisals, set KPI’s and KRA’s for direct reportees, and provide coaching and feedback
- Identify store training and development needs in collaboration with Brand General Manager and training department
- Formulate succession plans and support employee growth initiatives
- Conduct regional sales and operations meetings, provide feedback to managers, and align teams with business objectives
- Ensure participation in loyalty programs such as 'Club Apparel' and communicate brand initiatives
- Monitor store inventory, manage slow-moving or outdated stock, and ensure stock security
- Coordinate with Brand Managers, Buyers, Planners, and store teams to optimize sales and inventory
- Participate in new store design and layout projects, provide guidance to architects and project teams, and create a 'New Store Schedule'
- Conduct project update meetings and support territories during merchandising setup and store opening
- Enhance brand visibility, contribute to marketing and brand awareness activities, and manage legal responsibilities related to store operations
Experience & skills
