Job description
The Senior Consultant ā Valuations within Grant Thornton UAEās M&A and Transaction Advisory Services team plays a key role in delivering high-quality valuation and financial advisory services across the deal lifecycle. Based in Dubai, the role involves preparing detailed valuation reports, building sophisticated financial models, and supporting clients through mergers, acquisitions, IPOs, fundraising, and other strategic transactions. The Senior Consultant evaluates businesses and assetsāincluding intangible assetsāusing recognized valuation methodologies, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver insights that drive informed decision-making. The position also includes supervising junior team members, contributing to market studies, and supporting strategic transaction initiatives across diverse industries.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive valuation reports for business enterprises, equity interests, and intangible assets in accordance with industry standards.
- Develop and review complex financial models including DCF models, trading and transaction comparables, and scenario analyses.
- Support M&A transactions across the deal lifecycle, including financial analysis, due diligence inputs, and transaction structuring.
- Conduct market and industry research to support valuation assumptions and strategic recommendations.
- Assist in SPA advisory, IPO advisory, fundraising, and debt advisory engagements.
- Evaluate financial performance, forecast cash flows, and assess business risks to determine fair value.
- Present valuation findings and financial insights to clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams across corporate finance and advisory functions to deliver integrated transaction solutions.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor associates and interns to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Support client relationship management and contribute to business development efforts where required.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in valuations within a consulting firm, advisory practice, or related financial services environment.
- Professional qualification such as CFA, ASA, CBV, ACA, or ACCA (completed or in progress).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel for financial modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to build structured, robust, and defensible financial models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial judgment skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
- Confidence working independently and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to engage with diverse client stakeholders.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak transaction periods and travel to client sites as needed.
