The role leads and manages LDC design teams and daily operations across multiple projects, overseeing design delivery and fit-out works while managing the main contractor. Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across all stages of commercial fit-out design projects, ensuring coordination with construction, procurement, commercial, and programme management teams to align design objectives with project goals, timelines, and budgets. This includes managing workflows, scheduling design milestones, and identifying critical path activities to prevent delays or bottlenecks.
- Lead, mentor, and manage LDC design teams across multiple projects, providing guidance on technical and creative decisions, reviewing design outputs, and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Supervise daily operations to ensure tasks are assigned efficiently and completed to the highest standards.
- Oversee the delivery of design work in collaboration with main contractors, including regular site inspections, design reviews, and interface management between design teams and construction stakeholders. Ensure that design outputs are feasible, constructible, and aligned with the overall project vision and client expectations.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare management review reports for project leadership and functional heads. Track project performance, resource allocation, and team productivity to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures where necessary.
- Contribute to business development and work-winning initiatives by providing design input, project scoping, and technical expertise to support proposals, presentations, and client engagements. Promote innovative design solutions that differentiate Mace in the fit-out sector.
- Identify training needs for design teams and implement programs to enhance skills, technical knowledge, and project delivery capabilities. Foster an environment that encourages professional growth, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of industry standards and best practices.
- Initiate improvements in project delivery plans, design management processes, and tools. Implement lessons learned from past projects, leverage internal knowledge bases and Center of Excellence (CoE) resources, and drive process efficiency while promoting technical excellence and sustainable design practices including net zero carbon initiatives.
- Maintain effective client engagement throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design proposals meet expectations, addressing feedback promptly, and supporting long-term client relationships through high-quality, value-driven design delivery.

- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and technical excellence, including experience integrating net zero carbon initiatives into fit-out projects and promoting continuous improvement practices within design teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, present design solutions persuasively, and maintain professionalism in a multicultural and fast-paced work environment.
