The Cluster Learning & Development Officer at Al Maha Arjaan by Rotana in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is a hospitality-focused learning and development role responsible for supporting the Learning & Development Leader in managing and delivering the hotelās training and colleague development function to promote the desired work culture and service excellence standards. The role involves analysing colleague development needs across hotel operations, developing annual hotel colleague development plans, preparing monthly training and development reports, and maintaining a comprehensive colleague development library including coordination of learning material acquisitions. The position is accountable for developing and conducting training courses and facilitating training workshops based on operational requirements, as well as coordinating colleague development courses in consultation with the Learning & Development Leader. Responsibilities include conducting colleague orientation programs to the company and hotel, ensuring that all colleagues receive appropriate onboarding materials such as job descriptions, employee handbooks, local guides, and information on Human Resources services. The role also coordinates with the Human Resources Department and Housing Supervisor to ensure new colleagues are oriented within the housing complex and receive all required information. The Cluster Learning & Development Officer oversees on-the-job training for new and existing colleagues, supports the re-development of colleagues, and applies instructional methods and training techniques within a professional hotel training environment. The role requires strong working knowledge of hotel operations, effective use of computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and active collaboration with multiple hotel departments to support colleague development and training effectiveness.

Key responsibilities
- Analyse colleague development needs within hotel operations to support targeted training initiatives.
- Develop annual hotel colleague development plans and prepare monthly learning and development reports.
- Develop, maintain, and manage the hotelās colleague development library and coordinate training material acquisitions.
- Consult with the Learning & Development Leader to coordinate and schedule colleague development courses.
- Develop and conduct training courses and facilitate operational training workshops.
- Conduct colleague orientation programs and ensure distribution of job descriptions, handbooks, local guides, and Human Resources information.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources Department and Housing Supervisor to support new colleague housing orientation.
- Oversee on-the-job training programs for new and existing colleagues.
- Oversee colleague re-development initiatives to support performance improvement.
Experience & skills
- Hold a degree in the hospitality field with minor experience in a professional training environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques.
- Possess good working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate understanding of hotel operations and structured training programs.
- Exhibit the ability to conduct and follow structured training programs within a hospitality environment.
