Firmware for FPGA and microcontroller-based embedded systems is designed, developed, integrated and verified here. Architecture, coding standards, verification methods and certification requirements all rely on your technical direction. Design reviews are led, and firmware specifications and interface control documents are written and maintained. Hardware integration, validation and testing form a large part of the lifecycle. Requirements management, configuration management and certification processes need a thorough working understanding. Junior engineers look to you for mentoring, and firmware processes, tools and technology roadmaps are improved over time. At least 10 years of FPGA or microcontroller firmware development is required, with defence, aerospace or guided munitions experience preferred.
