Job description
The Engagement Manager, Strategy & Transformation at FTI Consulting Dubai is responsible for managing individual project modules and delivering high-impact recommendations to clients in corporate finance and restructuring contexts. The role requires leading teams through complex business problems, performing financial, operational, and market analyses, and translating insights into actionable strategic recommendations. The Engagement Manager is responsible for structuring problem-solving approaches, identifying critical paths for work, and ensuring high-quality deliverables under challenging engagement conditions. This includes leveraging commercial acumen, guiding junior staff, coaching, and formally providing constructive feedback. The role requires engagement with senior clients, presenting analyses and recommendations, managing client expectations, and, where necessary, covering senior team responsibilities in client interactions. Additionally, the role supports the creation of intellectual capital such as white papers, assists in developing client pitches, and identifies new areas of focus and leads from existing projects. The position demands strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and the capacity to foster professional growth in a diverse, collaborative consulting environment.

Key responsibilities
- Manage designated project modules in client billable engagements, overseeing scope, analysis, deliverables, and client interactions while ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Structure problem-solving approaches, translate project scope into actionable tasks, and independently identify required analyses to produce holistic insights and recommendations.
- Develop financial, operational, and market models using Excel and analytical tools, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with client needs.
- Coach and mentor junior staff, providing guidance, formal feedback, and career development support to build analytical and consulting skills within the team.
- Communicate assignments, direction, and insights effectively to internal project teams, project leadership, and clients to ensure seamless project execution and stakeholder alignment.
- Prepare and present structured analyses, deliverables, and recommendations with limited support from senior leadership, and, when required, cover senior team roles in client-facing situations.
- Coordinate project resources, identify priorities, manage time scales, and make dynamic decisions on delegation to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
- Contribute to business development and knowledge management initiatives by preparing client proposals, developing intellectual capital such as white papers, and identifying new leads from existing projects.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in professional services, management consulting, or related engagements, ideally with exposure to Telecom, Media & Technology sectors.
- Proven ability to manage project modules independently, perform structured analyses, and deliver actionable insights to clients.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and providing formal feedback to junior staff within consulting engagements.
- Strong analytical, financial, operational, and market modeling skills with proficiency in Excel and other relevant analytical tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for internal teams, leadership, and client-facing engagements.
- Ability to work under pressure in complex, fast-paced projects and maintain a professional, structured, and client-focused approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster collaborative team environments and develop strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
