Job description
The Resource Manager at Grant Thornton UAE plays a critical role in aligning the right people to the right projects at the right time, directly impacting project delivery, business efficiency, and employee engagement. As part of the Internal Client Services (ICS) team in Dubai, the manager is responsible for staffing and allocation, forecasting, capacity planning, utilization tracking, and supporting talent development. The role involves collaborating with business leaders, project managers, HR, and People & Culture teams to ensure resource allocation aligns with career goals and business needs. The manager will use tools like Retain, Mavenlink, or Float to manage resource data, track utilization, and generate key reports. Responsibilities also include mitigating operational impact from turnover, supporting retention strategies, and participating in strategic initiatives to improve resource management practices. The position demands at least five years of resource management experience in a professional services environment, strong analytical and negotiation skills, familiarity with matrix organizations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and resource planning systems.

- Influence retention by aligning staffing with employee preferences and career goals
- Participate in strategic initiatives related to resource management
- Partner with project managers and leadership to understand and fulfill project needs
- Use tools like Retain, Mavenlink, or Float to manage availability and assignments
- Maintain accurate records of skills, certifications, and preferences
- Analyze availability, utilization, and role status to drive operational excellence
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field
- Have at least five years of experience in resource management and workforce planning
- Demonstrate ability to match resources to projects based on skills, availability, and priorities
- Show experience in capacity planning, forecasting, and managing demands
- Be proficient in resource management tools such as Retain, Float, Mavenlink, Kimble, or SAP
- Work effectively with senior leaders, project managers, and HR teams
- Possess strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Be comfortable with reporting and analytics, including utilization tracking and scenario modelling
- Understand matrix organizations and multi-disciplinary team structures
