The role sits within Amazon’s fulfillment centre network, where inventory is received, stowed, picked, packed, and shipped to customers, requiring strict adherence to operational policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements. The ICQA Area Manager leads and supervises a team of hourly associates responsible for inventory control and quality assurance activities, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, quality measurement, and defect reduction across fulfillment operations. The position is responsible for maintaining inventory integrity through structured counting strategies, random audits, and SOX-compliant processes to ensure financial and operational accuracy. The role involves analyzing inventory deviations, identifying root causes using cause-and-effect methodologies, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. The manager is responsible for monitoring operational quality metrics, reviewing customer complaints and defect data, and developing action plans to improve fulfillment performance and reduce future issues. The role includes shift planning, workforce forecasting, task allocation, and performance management of team members, ensuring efficient operations aligned with business demand. The ICQA Area Manager also plays a key role in driving process improvement initiatives, applying Lean Six Sigma principles where applicable, and supporting network-wide operational quality programs.
