Job description
Clients of QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, often need more than a product built, and this Principal Software Engineer helps reshape how their technology teams work as well. Hands-on architecture, design and delivery of enterprise-grade software remain central, even while leading several development teams at once. C-level leaders will hear your views on short and long-term technology strategy, and those views can influence major decisions. Metrics and KPIs are set to keep engineering work aligned and measurable. Mentoring client teams on best practice is a big part of the job, from refactoring and design patterns to continuous integration, application security and test-driven development. Projects span industries and technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Java, Spring, C#, .NET, Node.js, SQL and NoSQL databases, and AWS, Azure or GCP. Agile teams look to you to coach the mindset through sprint ceremonies, work definition and developer capability building. Doha, Dubai and Riyadh are the listed offices, and English plus the local office language are expected. At least 8 years in software development and architecture is required, ideally with visible involvement in the tech community.
