Job description
KBR is seeking a Senior Completion Engineer (Commissioning) with experience in MEGA EPC projects to be based in Abu Dhabi for a PMC project. The role sits within KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, which provides holistic and value-added solutions across the asset life cycle, including world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design and engineering capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets. Candidates must bring a minimum overall 15+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including at least 10+ years in execution of EPC contracts, with ADNOC project experience considered an advantage. A Bachelorās Degree in Engineering is a must.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead commissioning and completion phases of MEGA EPC projects ensuring system readiness for handover.
- Develop and implement commissioning execution plans and strategies.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, PMC, and operations teams to ensure alignment with project deliverables.
- Conduct mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning readiness reviews.
- Manage completion databases, punch lists, test packs, and turnover documentation.
- Monitor commissioning progress and provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Ensure all documentation and certification meet project and regulatory standards.
- Supervise field commissioning activities ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
- Report progress, risks, and mitigation measures to senior management.
- Facilitate training and handover of systems to operations and maintenance teams.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 15+ years in the oil and gas industry with 10+ years in EPC project execution.
- Bachelorās degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or equivalent).
- Strong background in commissioning of large-scale oil & gas or petrochemical facilities.
- Proven experience in PMC environments and MEGA EPC project delivery.
- Knowledge of ADNOC standards and UAE project compliance requirements.
- Experience using completion management systems and turnover databases.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
- Willingness to work full-site in Abu Dhabi with cross-functional teams.
