Job description
The Financial Regulatory Lawyer ā Manager at EY Law in Riyadh is responsible for managing complex legal projects in the banking and finance sectors across the Middle East. The role involves advising clients on local and cross-border financial regulations, conducting legal research, drafting legal memoranda and opinions, and staying updated on legal and industry trends in the financial sector. The incumbent will build client relationships, supervise junior lawyers, and help develop the EY Law practice within the region. This role demands expertise in Saudi and regional financial laws, industry knowledge of banking and finance institutions, and familiarity with typical legal deliverables in transactions. The position also requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, leadership in client engagements, and proactive contribution to team and brand development initiatives.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Manage and deliver technically complex legal projects in the banking and finance sectors
- Advise clients on Saudi and MENA financial laws and regulatory issues
- Maintain strong client relationships and assist in business development
- Draft legal opinions, executive summaries, and legal issue memoranda
- Lead and supervise junior legal team members

Experience & skills
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience as a lawyer in a reputable legal environment
- Strong technical knowledge of banking and finance laws in Saudi Arabia and MENA
- Familiarity with transaction document structures and legal deliverables
- Demonstrated client relationship-building skills
- Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff
