Job description
The Enterprise Account Executive - Expansion role at Snowflake focuses on building, managing, and expanding client relationships within enterprise businesses in the data and cloud technology market. The Account Executive is responsible for prospecting, developing, negotiating, and closing enterprise software and cloud-based application opportunities in a timely manner while aligning closely with client requirements and IT roadmaps. The role involves managing a complex enterprise sales process, achieving quarterly and annual sales quotas, driving $1M+ in annual recurring revenue (ARR), and expanding revenue within existing enterprise accounts. The position requires sales strategy development, territory planning, prospect qualification, pipeline development, opportunity management, and opportunity closure, as well as ongoing account management to ensure customer satisfaction and generate additional revenue streams. The Account Executive acts as a trusted advisor by understanding customersā existing and future IT environments and positioning Snowflakeās data and cloud solutions accordingly. Responsibilities also include conducting executive-level and CxO discussions, leading positioning meetings, collaborating with marketing on marketing plans to drive revenue growth, supporting new customers through the onboarding process, and applying solution-based selling approaches. Experience in enterprise software sales, cloud technology, data technology, MEDDPICC methodology, executive relationship management, and navigating fast-paced, high-growth environments is emphasized, within Snowflakeās innovative and customer-focused organizational context.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales quotas by developing and executing a sales strategy for allocated enterprise customers, including territory planning, target prospect lists, and regional sales plans
- Develop and execute marketing plans in collaboration with the marketing team to drive enterprise revenue growth
- Serve as a trusted advisor by analyzing customer IT roadmaps and positioning Snowflake data and cloud solutions within the enterprise marketplace
- Qualify prospects and develop new enterprise sales opportunities to generate ongoing revenue streams
- Arrange and conduct executive-level and CxO discussions and solution positioning meetings
- Manage the full enterprise sales process from prospecting through opportunity closure
- Perform ongoing account management to ensure customer satisfaction and expansion of additional revenue streams
- Apply a solution-based selling methodology while managing complex enterprise sales cycles
Experience & skills
- Possess 7+ years of field sales experience with emphasis on data technology or cloud technology
- Demonstrate 2+ years of industry-focused experience expanding and generating new business within existing enterprise accounts
- Independently manage, develop, and close new enterprise client relationships
- Consistently achieve sales quotas, including experience delivering $1M+ in annual recurring revenue (ARR)
- Show a track record of pipeline development, consistent sales activity, and quota attainment
- Determine customer requirements and present appropriate enterprise software and cloud-based solutions
- Manage executive-level relationships and understand enterprise business drivers around IT
- Apply MEDDPICC methodology and demonstrate experience selling enterprise software or cloud-based applications
